Spring Fever at Kars4Kids!

Here at Kars4Kids, we are excited to finally say goodbye to scraping ice off our windshields and say hello to driving with the windows down as we sing along to our favorite jingle on the radio.

“Spring” into action with these top 4 ways to channel your spring fever, as we say goodbye to winter and hello to spring!

  1. Unleash your creativity!

Spring is the perfect time to break away from the monotony of winter and tackle any projects or long forgotten hobbies you’ve been wanting to retry. Want to change jobs? Finish a book? Build a birdfeeder for your backyard? With the warmer weather approaching, now is the perfect time to get motivated and make a plan of action for finally finishing (or starting) your project.

  1. Freshen up your home.

Throw open those windows and let the fresh air in! During the winter months, we often times isolate ourselves into the warmth of our home, but now that spring is here, it’s time to throw open those doors and windows, and freshen up your home.

One way to do this is to tackle some spring cleaning. So you don’t get too tired out and give up halfway through, try writing a to-do list and aim to accomplish at least one task per day. Whether it’s dusting off the bookshelves or repainting a room, it will feel great to check items off your to-do list each day.

An added bonus to spring cleaning is not only freshening up your home, but having the chance to donate unused or unwanted items to charity. This can be anything from unworn clothing, old toys your children are no longer playing with, or even that clunker taking up space in your garage.   1. Immerse yourself in nature.

It goes without saying that spring time is the perfect opportunity to reacquaint yourself with the great outdoors. After being cooped up all winter, there’s nothing like the feeling of breathing in fresh air and hearing the birds chirping once again. Going on a simple nature walk in your nearest park, taking a stroll around a lake, relaxing on the beach, or, for the more adventurous ones, taking a vigorous hike through the woods, are all great ways to welcome back the warmth.

  1. Enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Each season comes along with fruits and vegetables that are at its prime during those specific months. After going a whole winter without peaches, plums, and strawberries, it is definitely exciting to see them filling the shelves at the local supermarket again. Celebrate the homecoming of your favorite springtime fruits and vegetables by turning it into a fun family activity by going fruit and vegetable picking!

Popular fruits during this time of year are peaches, plums, and grapefruit, guava, and berries. Popular spring vegetables include artichokes, asparagus, beets, fava beans, peas, and radishes.
