Getting to Know You: Batsheva (Becky) Kolodny

Kars4Kids: What is your full work title?

Batsheva Kolodny: Inbound Sales Manager

Kars4Kids: When did you begin working at Kars4Kids and why?

Batsheva Kolodny: 12 years ago. I was teaching ESL in the mornings and started working part time for Kars4Kids in the afternoons. My work in inbound sales became more and more intriguing until I realized that this is where I shone. I quit my teaching job and began working for Kars4Kids full time. At this point, the powers that be promoted me to manager. I’ve been there ever since!

Kars4Kids: How has Kars4Kids changed since you joined the team?

Batsheva Kolodny: We’ve gotten bigger and better in so many ways. We’ve opened so many more programs for the kids and we’ve streamlined the donation process to make it so much easier to donate your car.

Kars4Kids: Describe a typical workday for you at Kars4Kids.

Batsheva Kolodny: I don’t have a typical day but some of my responsibilities include creating schedules, reviewing performance data, meeting with team members, analyzing data, creating new processes, conducting interviews and training.

Kars4Kids: What’s your advice to working moms?

Batsheva Kolodny: My advice is to include your children in your job.  This may not work for all companies but it certainly works for Kars4Kids.  My kids have visited the summer camps and joined some of the volunteer programs. I tell them stories about kids we’ve helped and make them feel part of all the great work we do.  My seven-year-old just told me that when she grows up she wants to work for Kars4Kids, too!

Kars4Kids: What do you love best about your job?

Batsheva Kolodny: I really identify with Kars4Kids’s mission and I feel blessed to be a part of it.  I also love the people I work with – everyone here is so friendly, kind and caring and the work atmosphere is so positive and upbeat that it is just a pleasure to work for Kars4Kids.

  1. I am curious. Who picks up my car? where does my car go ? At what point does my car produce cash proceeds for children? What % of these proceeds are passed on to the children? E-mail me with answers to these questions and any additional information that might serve to dispel the doubts I have about the legitimacy of your operation Thanks Bill Wallace
